Jesus wasn’t a man or a prophet, he was God according to William Branham.
“You believe in the Deity of Christ, all of you, don’t you? He was God. He wasn’t a man. The people today try to lower Him down to be a prophet. He was—He was either God or the biggest deceiver the world ever had. A prophet’s blood wouldn’t do you no good. A prophet’s a man. But Jesus was God.” William Branham 1953
I say, Jesus is a man, and Jesus is a prophet, and Jesus is not God for he is the son of God.
The quote above is a typical statement of William Branham that represents long term, on-going, incorrect language. If a man can’t say something in a coherent way, that isn’t riddled with false and contradictory statements or ambiguous at best, he needs to be quiet or at least not be heard. Such a one is certainly not being used by God to restore all things. God is not the author of confusion and should be given more credit. Attempting to excuse this language with open-end statements like, “take me for what I mean not what I say (WMB),” while claiming to speak in an absolute manner for God is an affront to God who: “avails Himself of human thought and speech to make Himself known and His speech intelligible..” (New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge).
We have gone to great lengths, stretching and reaching from 1947-65 trying to discern the indiscernible, to neutralize errant and convoluted statements with those that are correct or closer to correct in order to protect the personality of a man, and ‘his message.” This ought not to be. I abandon that effort and apologize for having engaged in it so long. Just like others, I was captivated by the perceived humility, the sensationalized story-lines and the discernment nstead of what is absolutely thus says the Scripture. His undercutting of Jesus as the Master Teacher to bolster himself was the straw that broke the camel’s back. No more working out WMB’s words to mean other than what he actually said.
God has spoken to us in his Son without contradiction or error, in an intelligent and understandable way; likewise the spirit of Christ in the Apostles, for this is becoming to himself. Should he speak at any time, it won’t be otherwise. The language of WMB above (like throughout) is weighed by the words of Scripture and found wanting. Bro. Steve
DEUTERONOMY 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
I TIMOTHY 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
JOHN 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
JOHN 9:36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
JOHN 9:37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
>>>You may despise brother branham language but when you know the doctrine you love his language>>>
You do not know a man’s doctrine aside from his language.There is no language and doctrine, there is doctrinal language. The language is the doctrine. With all due respect, that is just a play on words to try to excuse incorrect language and separate it from the true doctrine...can’t be done. God doesn’t operate that way and has no need to operate that way. It is beneath his integrity and intelligence.
